Montrose, Co - June 23 - July 1

We drove from Durango to Montrose on June 23 - Drove across Red Mountain Pass (One of my all-time favorite drive - but better in a car than a ten ton truck). We have been very busy here in Montrose for the past week plus. We have visited Ouray, Telluride, and Ridgway as well as many areas around Montrose. We will be moving on to Hotchkiss tomorrow for my HS reunion on July 3-4.

Last week we bought a board and had a sign made for the front of our TravelLodge when we are parked.

Below is a picture of Kent and the travel Gnome in Ouray, Co.

We also visited Box Canyon in Ouray - the falls were spectacular - the best I have ever seen them.

The Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is ALWAYS worth a visit.

Below is a picture of Telluride and the surrounding mountains from near the airport.
