From Montrose to Colorado Springs - July 2 - 12, 2008

We've been BAD - haven't posted for over 10 days, and almost haven't taken any pictures - with a digital camera there is NO excuse. When we left Montrose we went to Hotchkiss where we camped for 3 days. While there we visited the church where Kent first joined as a full member of the Methodist Church. Below see Peggy and our Gnome in the church.

We went to the class reunion in Paonia on July 3-4, including riding on the trailer in the Cherry Day parade. We had an enjoyable time, then went on to Gunnison for 5 days during which we visited Crested Butte, Lake City, and Gunnison. If you ever have a chance to visit the pioneer museum in Gunnison, it is wonderful. We left Gunnison on July 10 and drive over Monarch Pass to Canon City and the next day to Colorado Springs. Yesterday, July 11, we visited the Garden of the Gods and drove to the Summit of Pike's Peak (about 14150 feet). The picture below is from the Garden of the Gods.

Peggy and the Gnome at the top of Pike's Peak.

The Cog Railroad sitting at the top of the Mountain. We took our own car.
The next two evenings in Colorado Springs will be spent with family - then it's on to Nebraska on Monday.
